About STI

Secretariat Training Institute (STI) was established in January 1956 at Karachi as an integral part of the Establishment Division. The Institute was declared an Attached Department of the Establishment Division on July 1, 1960. STI is housed in its own building at H-9, Islamabad since December 1987. Primary mandate of the Institute is capacity building of Federal Government Employees. The training has two main steams i.e. Specialized Trainings and General Capacity Building. STI is the specialized training academy for CSS probationers belonging to Office Management Group (OMG); whereas different capacity building courses are designed and held round the year for officials and officers in BS-17 to BS-19 belonging to Federal government.   • Office Management Wing:
          • 48 Participants of 40th Specialized Training Program attending Ministries/Division attachment programme from 28-05-2018 to 08-06-2018.
          • TRAINING ACTIVITIES DURING THE LAST MONTH:
                  • One week training course on “Duties and Responsibilities of DDOs & Cashiers” held from 16-07-2018 to 20-07-2018 for Government Employees in BS-09 to BS-16 with 49 participants. Main topics covered were Duties and responsibilities of DDOs/Cashier Budget preparation, provision of GFR. FTR and Financial power delegated to Ministries/Divisions and Heads of Department. .
                  • Two weeks training course on “Office Procedure” held from 02-07-2018 to 13-07-2018 for Government Employees in BS-09 to BS-16 with 77 participants. Main topics covered were civil servant Act, 1973, ATP Rule, Basics of Secretariat Instructions and Conduct Rules, 1964
                  • One week training course on “Effective communication and negotiation skills” held from 09-07-2018 to 13-07-2018 for officers in BS-17 to BS-19 with 28 participants. Main topics covered were Fundamentals of communication, Improving organizational communication and the role of information technology for improving communication skills.
